Engelska för affärsjurister, 711G14 /English for Students of Law, 711G33 , 7,5 HP

Inom kursen behandlas den anglosaxiska synen på juridik och dess kultur utifrån ett historiskt perspektiv. Texter av olika slag och från olika källor som handlar om juridik läses och diskuteras och juridisk terminologi studeras och tillämpas i samband med textläsning och diskussion. Skrivfärdigheten baseras på olika juridiska frågeställningar. Presentationsteknik tränas. Repetition och genomgång av grammatik förekommer vid behov.

 

The Anglo Saxon view of law and legal culture is considered from a historical perspective within the framework of the course. Texts of different types and from different sources that deal with matters of law are read and discussed and legal terminology is studied and used in connection with the reading and discussion of these texts. Different legal questions are used as a basis for the practice of writing skills. Presentation skills are practiced. Grammar is revised and different points are studied as the need arises.
The examination comprises a written report which is presented and discussed in class, a variety of written assignments based on classwork and a final written examination.
