Degree Projects at IEI
For a number of LiTH’s programmes, degree projects can be performed at IEI.
In 2011, we examined 531 students, predominantly undertaken by students on the M and I programmes (214 projects), 12 degree projects at specific Master programmes and 61 Bachelor’s projects at undergraduate level.
A number of rules and regulations govern the way in which a degree project is done at IEI. Some of these rules and regulations are determined by LiTH and the different programme boards and can be found in the university handbook, while others are specific to IEI. There can be certain differences in the way in which the degree projects are carried out even within the Institute. This is why in addition to the directives which are common to IEI there are also those which are more specifically geared to students whose degree projects are within the fields of management or technology, respectively. A student who is doing a degree project at IEI is expected to be aware of these rules and regulations, both those that are common and those that are specific to IEI.
IEI’s homepage for degree project work is constructed as follows. To the right, there are a number of links which are of general interest, e.g. to the regulations in the university handbook, information about the electronic publication of degree projects, hints and tips on report writing etc. We have placed those links that are specific to IEI to the left, among which can be found requirements that are specific to IEI, the on-line application form which you should use to inform us that you intend to do a degree project at IEI and a list of the Institute’s current publications. Below, you will find which departments belong to the School of Management and which come under Technology, along with the name of the contact person for the different departments.
We recommend you to begin by reading through “Instructions for degree projects at IEI” in order to get an understanding of what it means to do your degree project in our Institution. If you then have any questions, you are welcome to contact us. You may contact either the contact person in the department concerned (see below) or one of the people who works with the more general routines for degree projects at IEI.
