Research interest

My research interest is in strategic management, innovation and organizational change of firms. I have a special focus on these concepts in relation to national policies. I’m focusing on the timber related value chain, i.e. from forestry to finished good (timber housing, joinery products and furniture), on a local and international level.

Presently, I’m involved in a study of identifying and describing business models and strategic behavior of companies in the Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish timber construction industries. The aim is to relate customer attitudes to product and company development.

Furthermore, I’m studying value-adding strategies of wood-based companies as their customers are experiencing a consolidating trend. The aim is to identify positions and roles of suppliers in different sub-sectors of the wood based industry.
