Fluid and Mechanical Engineering Systems

The division of Fluid and Mechanical Engineering Systems (FluMeS) performs research and education mainly in fluid power system design and control, noise attenuation, autonomous robotics and fluid power modeling and simulation but also in aircraft design. We are part of the Department of Management and Engineering (IEI) at Linköping University, Sweden since 1970 and consist of some 20 people.

Our main goal is to increase energy efficiency, decrease noise and add needed functionality to fluid power systems. This is achieved through research in close collaboration with industry and other research groups and by producing engineers with knowledge and practical experience on how to

• design efficient fluid power components and systems
• analyze physical systems through modeling and simulation and implement robust and high-performing control algorithms
• utilize industrial measurement equipment, control software and communication technologies
• work in projects, following a project model as well as design methodology
