Research

Sara's research is focused on strategies for environmental management in local authorities. This research was originally focused on local authorities’ use of standardised environmental management systems (EMSs). Currently, the research focuses on how different environmental and sustainability strategies can be used in a more integrated approach and what roles local authorities play in the development towards sustainable cities, see the research projects Sustainable Norrköping and HEKSA.

Education

Sara is responsible for two courses on strategic environmental management. She is also holding lectures and supervising projects in other courses.

Cooperation with Industry and Society

Sara is currently involved in the development of a national standard for sustainability management for the public sector. This is done in co-operation with the Swedish Association for Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR), the Swedish Environmental Management Council and Swedish Standards Institute
